As we enter this sacred season of fasting and reflection, we do so with the understanding that we still have work to do. Lenten season is a time of renewal, discipline, and preparation.

"In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.
I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled."
Daniel 12 : 2, 3 NRSV
Then Jesus told his disciples, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.
Matthew 16 : 24 - 25 NRSV
...pray without ceasing
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NRSV
...but those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40 : 31 NRSV
I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.

Corporate Fast
Begins Wednesday, March 5, 2025 - Ends Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Fasting is voluntarily abstaining from a set thing, for a period of time and for a selected reasons.
However, when done so spiritually, fasting must be accompanied with sincere prayer to be effective in securing an answer from God. Doing so allows you to improve your communication with God through prayer. As your communication improves your relationship with God is strengthened. It is critical to increase your prayer time during a fast. Pray as often as possible, or do as the Scripture says and pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17). Carry yourself in a posture of prayer; not only to ask of God, but to hear from Him as well.

WHAT IS ASH WEDNESDAY?
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a reflection leading up to Easter Sunday. It is observed by Christians of many traditions, and serves as a time of repentance (Joel 2:12-13, 1 John 1:9) and spiritual renewal (Is. 58:6-9, Matt. 6:16-18). The name comes from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of worshipper in the shape of a cross. These ashes are often made from the burned palms of the previous year's Palm Sunday and symbolizes humility, repentance and our dependence on God...."For dust you are, and to dust you shall return" (Gen. 3:19); notwithstanding our need for God's grace.

Strength for the Journey
Through prayer, fasting and devotion, we will seek God's strength to endure trials, resist distractions, and remain steadfast in our calling. Just as Jesus persevered in the wil-derness, we too, commit to pressing forward, knowing that our strength is not our own but comes from the Lord.
In this time of renewal, we have joined hearts as two church families, one faith. Together we will seek renewal, endurance, and power for the work ahead for both ministries. Let us walk in faith, trusting that God will sustain us, equip us, and lead us to victory.

WHAT IS THE DANIEL FAST PLAN?
Get to know more about what makes us different.
We will be using Daniel's method of eating as found in Dan. 10:2,3.
Simply put, we'll eat only earth grown fruits, vegetables, etc. Natural food help to reset the body, cleanse the mind, and activate the Spirit as you war with the flesh. Fasting is an act of discipline. The Daniel Fast is NOT easy, even with food. Fasting, in any form, is difficult because you're doing battle physically and spiritually. However, there are steps you can take to strengthen you for the warfare you will encounter (Matt. 16:24 - 25). Just a be sure to prepare your heart, mind, and body for your journey and pray every step of the way.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
Be Responsible. Seek medical advise before any fast; especially if you have medical concerns. Please note that while we are using the Daniel Fast as our corporate method of choice, if this nutritional method does not meet your doctor's standard, then please know that at the core of any fast is the abstaining of something.
Please settle on what you can abstain from and be diligent whole heartedly on your Fasting journey.

HERE ARE SOME BENEFITS OF FASTING
WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE
God hears and answers prayer regardless of you Fasting. Spiritual Fasting is key when seeking intense spiritual guidance and strength. Participating in a corporate fast links you with fellow believers to achieve victory in Christ, over the works of Satan. Your participation gains you a closer relationship with God and belief in His miraculous power. You should note, that fasting is not a Biblical requirement. Our prayers will still be answered. Our faith can grow without Fasting. Our salvation is not slanted. God will bless us and love us still. But the question then becomes, how much MORE do you desire from your Heavenly Father....Some things can only happen by fasting & prayer (Mk 9:29).
WHAT ARE SOME RESULTS
Fasting results are numerous. In short, prayers are answered; to the degree of God's will for our lives, seeing. He knows best. Fasting adds spiritual control over flesh to end non-disciplined habits. Your power to resist Satan is increased. Fresh insights are given. Your confidence and faith in God strengthened. You'll feel mentally, spiritually and physically refreshed. Your digestive system gets a rest and rids the body of toxins. Holy Spirit stirs gifts to a greater extent, and your relationship with Christ is strengthened.
