Ministries at the Mount

Administrative Support responsibilities are aligned to support spiritual, physical, and operational growth.
This alignment enables administrative support to effectively serve the changing needs of the Pastor, Ministerial Staff, Ministries, Auxiliaries, and the Congregation as we embrace teamwork, and focus on continuous improvement to ensure service provided is in accordance with Church policy and best practices. 

The mission of the Deacons to aid the Pastor in ministering to the membership.  To reach out to each individual family, one-on-one; in time of bereavement, for counseling and prayer, family ministry, hospital vitiation, sick and shut-in visitation, serving of communion and general family spiritual enhancement.

As ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our mission is to support our pastor in caring for and equipping the people of God in their spiritual growth. Our unwavering dedication centers on providing compassionate and insightful guidance, enriching Christian education, and fostering an environment of growth and discipleship. We strive to inspire God's people to deepen their faith, discover their unique gifts, embrace a life of service within the community of Christ, and experience the fullness of life in Christ.

Trustees, Ministry of Finance is responsible for managing the congregation’s financial resources. Its’ primary focuses are management of tithes, offerings and other income, payment of creditors, assembly of the annual spending, and building upkeep.

The Transportation Ministry provides a way for individuals to attend church service, Sunday School and other church related outings.  The Transportation Ministry reaches out to the entire Detroit Metropolitan area.

The Mission of the Altar Circle Ministry of the Mount is to administer to the needs of the pulpit of the church, ensuring that everything is in order in the pulpit each Sunday and during funerals, weddings, and other services at the church. “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (Ephesians 6:7 NLT)

Ministry of Community, Information and Health is to concern itself with the physical, spiritual and emotional health of members of the congregation and the community. Its’ focuses are “Good Samaritan” projects and programs; prayer, ministry; supportive ministries for people in crisis; collecting and disseminating information for promoting health and wellness.

Teach and train on how to adopt these principles for managing financial wealth and resources

For men to come together in fellowship, while striving to take their rightful place in the home and church.

The Pastoral Care Ministry is responsible for visitation and counsel.  Visits are made to members and non-members in hospital and nursing homes, as well as those who are homebound; to minister to the bereaved through conducting funerals and grief support.

To understand, support and promote the need for academic, as well as spiritual growth to succeed in today’s society, the STewart Education
Ministry encourages the youth of Mt. Pleasant to obtain their educational goals by contributing both financial and spiritual support

The Women’s Fellowship is responsible for leading women to trust God and allow Him to lead them in a well-balanced ministry that meets the needs of women at all spiritual levels through evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, worship and service.

The purpose by the power of the Holy Spirit is to enhance the preached Word of God and ministry of music with clear and dynamic presentation of sound and sight.  We strive to assist in authenticating the formality and gravity of the Gospel so that listeners will be challenged to not only hear the Word but obey it.

We are determined to F.E.E.D - through Faith, to Educate and Equip young ladies between the ages of 10-18 to become Disciples of Christ, by being R.E.A.L - Relational, Encouraging, Authentic and Loving.

The purpose of the Golden Age Fellowship is to extend the mission of the senior members of the congregation, assisting them in understanding their Biblical role in their senior years, building self-esteem and confidence in themselves showing how God still uses them to pray and intercede together, to encourage and serve others.

Encourage members and constituents to exemplify Christ through recreational activities.  

Present the dynamics of spiritual leadership and personal development as a leader in the areas of inner life discipline and maturing, grasping the Word of God, Biblical doctrine and ministry maturing. 

To extend the mission of Mt. Pleasant to married members of the congregation. To assist them in understanding the Biblical role of marriage and how this relates to their daily lives; build self-esteem and confidence by showing them how God has created them in His image; pray and intercede together, encourage, and serve others within the married community.

We exist as a safe place for youth to D.I.G. into their faith.

To equip young adults, ages 18-45, to live lives that are aligned with the powerful Word of God through various forms of life changing impact, fellowships and forums, to experience the benefits of living a seasoned (or hyped) life in Christ.

To learn and educate God’s people in the full power of His Word. The Ministry of Christian Education is responsible for overseeing Sunday School, Golden Age Fellowship, Bible Study, Evangelism Explosion, Outreach, Youth and New Member Orientation as well as personal growth opportunities for all ages. 

The Deaconess Ministry shall, in accordance with the church’s mission, assist the Pastor and the Deacon’s Ministry by providing Pastoral care to the membership, regardless of the level of spiritual development, with a particular emphasis placed upon the female population of the congregation.  Also responsible for the equipment and supplies needed for the observance of church ordinances.

To assure each and every individual that visits or becomes a member at Mt. Pleasant is warmly and lovingly received to ensure members are given the correct information; guide and direct them while making them feel the love of the Holy Spirit in their decision to be a part of our membership; to provide assistance as needed for all church functions.

With patience, religiously educate the (church) body by teaching God’s word of salvation through dialogue availability and motivation.

We exist to carry out the Great Commission as given in Matthew 28:19 & 20 through the platform of social media:  “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”.

The Mt. Pleasant Teen Ministry, Teens Living in Christ (TLC) encourages Teen’s ages 12-17 to lead a Christian teen lifestyle through personal growth and academic development.

The We Care Ministry, under the power and authority of the Holy Spirit, declares to be
the light of the world, demonstrating love and faithfulness to God as we serve our
Senior Citizens at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in the Name of our Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Everybody in the church should be doing some type of mission work. The job of Christians In Action is to get the total church involved in missions.

Evangelism Explosion is led by the Holy Spirit to bring non-believers into a saving and redemptive relationship with Jesus Christ while assisting ministry leaders through spiritual development.  

The purpose of Intercessory Prayer is to pray to God for the needs of others or circumstances as the Holy Spirit instructs and leads us. Our goal is to encourage every Church member to understand the importance and Power of Prayer and Intercession. We are committed to uplifting and supporting the vision God has given to our Pastor in Kingdom Building.

To aid in the development and effectiveness of ministry leaders by connecting them with the overarching vision for ministry, promoting strategic ministry collaborations and providing guidance in the use of ministry services and resources. 

Actively seek to support young people and provide fertile ground that allows those with a God given idea to learn how to establish and grow a professional business.

Committed to taking a stand and actionable steps that will lead to equitable treatment under the law on social injustices including but not limited to, human rights, inadequate/safe housing, education disparities, health care, discrimination of race, sex, or gender identity and voter rights within our community, specifically, and the world in general . 

The purpose of the Ushers Ministry is to greet each person who enter through the doors of Mt. Pleasant with a warm smile, assist them in finding seating in the sanctuary and supply everyone with church literature.

The purpose of the Willing Working Ministry is to provide and be available to families of the deceased members of Mt. Pleasant and provide luncheons for the families and sharing themselves in the grief and suffering of others.
