It's Time To Declutter

Apr 26, 2026    Pastor James Minnick

This powerful message challenges us to look beyond our physical spaces and examine the clutter within our own hearts, minds, and spirits. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 7:1, we're reminded that God has made us incredible promises—He dwells within us, walks among us, and calls us His children. But to fully experience these promises, we must declutter ourselves from everything that contaminates our body and spirit. The sermon takes us on a journey through three critical areas: mental decluttering, where we learn to guard our minds from toxic news cycles, negative relationships, and overwhelming social media; relational decluttering, where we're encouraged to set healthy boundaries and recognize that not everyone deserves constant access to our peace; and spiritual decluttering, where we confront unforgiveness, pride, bitterness, and hidden sin. The message powerfully connects to Romans 12:2, reminding us not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We're challenged to ask ourselves: When was the last time we truly purged ourselves? When did we last take inventory of what we're carrying that God never intended for us to bear? This isn't just about spring cleaning our closets—it's about creating space for God to work miracles in our lives.
