“He’s Better Than You Think!” | Mt. Pleasant MBC Worship Service

Jul 12, 2026    Pastor James Minnick

This powerful message reminds us that God's goodness often operates in ways we don't immediately recognize or understand. Drawing from Romans 8:28, we're challenged to see beyond our circumstances and trust that God is actively working all things together for our good. The sermon explores three profound truths: God is good right in the middle of our trouble, God is working behind the scenes in ways we cannot see, and God's goodness is actively pursuing us even when we run from Him. Through the story of Jesus calming the storm, we learn that sometimes God directs us into difficulties not because we've done something wrong, but because He wants to reveal His power and get our attention. The disciples followed Jesus' instructions and still encountered the storm, teaching us that doing all the right things doesn't exempt us from trouble. What matters is that Jesus was in the boat with them, just as He is with us in our storms. We're encouraged to pause in our pain and recognize that delays might be divine protection, closed doors might be redirections to better opportunities, and seasons of isolation might be exactly where God strengthens us. The message calls us to stop rushing ahead of God's timing and to trust that His best work often happens when things look their worst for us.
