"OHHH THAT I MIGHT KNOW HIM!"
"OHHH THAT I MIGHT KNOW HIM!"
Colossians 1:15-20 NLT Philippians 3:10 NIV
Rev Dr. Kimberly R. Whitsett, Senior Pastor
What does it truly mean to know Jesus, not just know of him? This message invites us into a deeper, more intentional encounter with the one who holds all of creation together. Drawing from Colossians 1:15-20, we are reminded that Christ is not simply a religious figure we reference in prayer or acknowledge on Sunday mornings. He is the visible image of the invisible God, the one through whom everything was made and in whom everything finds its purpose. The challenge laid before us is a striking one: many of us carry the title of believer while remaining on the surface of who Jesus actually is. We say grace out of habit. We recite familiar prayers without fully grasping the magnitude of the one we are addressing. This message calls us to move past familiarity and into genuine discovery, because knowing his name is just the beginning. Even the forces of darkness know his name. The real question is whether we know him in a way that transforms how we live, how we trust, and how we face the uncertainties of life. This is not a passive invitation but an urgent one, and it meets us exactly where we are.
