Deacon Walter Bridgewater received Jesus Christ under the Leadership of Dr. Frederick G, Sampson at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church Detroit Michigan, in 1979. While He was regularly reading God’s word, attending Sunday School and Bible study, He became excited about His faith in Christ. The gift of Evangelism was evident as He shared with His family and friend’s the love of Jesus. He joined the visitation Ministry at Tab, where the group visited the sick and shut-in and nursing home members. One of His favorite scripture’s is Hebrew’s 12:2a ” Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
Upon uniting with Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in March of 2001 under the Leadership of Dr. James J. Minnick, He became involved with The Mighty Men of the Mount, Male Chorus, Youth Church, Nursing Home and Adult Sunday School Ministries. Minister Lisa Howard ask Him to take an Evangelism Explosion Class at Second Ebenezer Church. Once He completed the class, He attended a one-week Conference on Evangelism in Long Island New York. Returning home, He was empowered by the Holy Spirit and the zeal of His experience. Minister Lisa Howard wanted Him to Lead the Evangelism Explosion Team at the Mount, because she was busy with other Ministry duties, Reluctantly He accepted and did not realize that it was in God’s plan. After twelve years of Teaching and Training Evangelism. He accepted the call into Ministry October 2018.He is married to the love of his life and friend Sarah. He is retired from General Motor’s and he likes to read and play pool. He is studying and training for his Ordination in 2021.
